Tracy is well known locally in her role as chair of the popular St Ives September Festival. With her husband Nick, Tracy is a joint director of their IT company and is currently studying Art and Design at Cornwall College.

Tracy is a mother of four, and she has been involved in charity and community work for a number of years. She was a trustee of the National Childbirth Trust for ten years, has been a local school governor and has also volunteered for a local youth project.

Speaking after the announcement of her selection, Tracy said: ‘I am very excited to have this opportunity to champion the Green cause in West Cornwall. The Green Party has a lot to offer, with its clear principles and fresh ideas, and I am looking forward to campaigning on this agenda in the run-up to the election, whenever it is called.’

She continued: ‘While the Green Party’s stance on environmental issues is very important to me, its stance on wider social issues is just as relevant in West Cornwall. I also believe passionately in the need to tackle poor housing, low wages, more support for families, and greater equality in the workplace.’

The proposal for a single, unitary council for Cornwall is a recipe for ‘remote control’ and will undermine local democracy. Public opinion is overwhelmingly opposed to a single council, as demonstrated by the recent referendum, in which a massive 81% of people voted against the idea.
