A new farmers' market has been running in St Ives since April 2008.
The markets take place every Thursday at the Backpackers, just up from the cinema in Royal Square, St Ives, between 9.30am and 3pm. More than a dozen farmers and local food producers attend the market each week. Farmers' market launch in April 08
The markets are run by a not-for-profit organisation called GULP, which stands for Great-tasting Unbeatable Local Produce. Goods on sale must have been grown, reared or otherwise produced within a 30 miles radius of St Ives.
In June, the market expanded into a second room at the Backpackers in order to accommodate additional food producers wishing to trade. |
