St Ives and the surrounding area need better recycling facilities, and Green councillor Tamsyn Williams has raised the issue at a recent Town Council meeting.
She argued that the Green Box kerbside collection service should be extended to included cardboard and plastics; there should be more recycling banks for residents; and more should be done to promote composting.
Tamsyn commented: “Recycling is a very practical way in which individuals can do their bit for the environment. Most people are keen to recycle more, and the Council’s role should be to find ways of making it easier to do so.”
Tamsyn has met with the Penwith District Council’s recycling officer to discuss these and other issues, and will be campaigning further on recycling in the coming months.
If you have concerns or suggestions about recycling, you can contact Tamsyn on 795695 or send an e-mail to
