West Cornwall Green Party has launched its campaign manifesto for the local elections on 3rd May.
The Greens are fielding four candidates for Penwith District Council and seven candidates for St Ives Town Council.
In St Ives, the Green Party is fielding more candidates than any other party and, as a result, each of the town's three wards will be hotly contested.
Under the slogan 'Make a Difference', the Green manifesto sets out a range of policies to reduce traffic, tackle waste, protect the environment and strengthen the local economy.
Key policies include:
Better public transport, and traffic restrictions in St Ives town centre
An expansion of the district's household recycling collection to include cardboard and plastic bottles
A quality farmers market in St Ives and more local produce in the area's shops
Greater protection for open spaces and greenfield sites
A more active and dynamic Town Council in St Ives.

Tim Andrewes, one of the Party's three Town Council candidates in St Ives South Ward, commented:
"We are proposing a range of practical ideas that will improve the quality of life for local residents and tackle some of the environmental and social problems of the area.
"People increasingly want to do something to help protect the environment, and we believe our local councils should be making it easier for people to make the right choice."
