Green Success in Local Elections 07

The Green Party is today celebrating election success in St Ives. Six Greens have been elected to St Ives Town Council, and the Green Party is now the largest group on the council, holding 6 of the 16 seats.

County Council to invest over £21 million in pollution

Cornwall County Council has agreed to spend £21 million on Newquay Airport, at a time when concerns are growing about the contribution of air travel to climate change. This is on top of the Council’s annual subsidy to the airport of £1 million worth of taxpayers’ money.
